What is URL/URI encoding?
Text that contains special characters, spaces, new lines, etc. very often cannot be properly used in the URL of the page. As it is a frequent problem, there is a standard way to encode text to be used in the URL. To encode text, each character is replaced by a sequence of % and two hexadecimal digits.
